Bhagwati Group

Products-old

We use cutting-edge techniques such as Thermex and Tempcore, which enable us to produce high strength rebars which can meet all requirements of the construction industry. The Thermex Process is used at the Silvassa plant while the Tempcore process is used at the Nashik unit. The following properties make our rebars superior to our competitors:

  • High Mechanical Properties

Bhagwati rebars demonstrate:

  • Excellent weldability

As the carbon content is less than 0.25%, they are suitable for all welding processes without any pre-heating or post-heating requirement. The bars also do not lose strength at weld-joints

  • Excellent ductility and bendability
  • Fatigue and strain aging resistance due to the unique manufacturing process and superior chemical composition
  • High Temperature resistance

Bhagwati bars have been proven to resist loss of strength at high temperatures that are typically experienced during fires. This makes the buildings far more safe in case of a fire emergency.

  • Corrosion Resistance

As against the CTD bars which experience a higher rate of corrosion as the protective scale layer falls off during twisting, the Bhagwati bars produced using Tempcore and Thermex processes restrict scale formation. Also, since no cold working is involved, the Bhagwati bars show better corrosion resistance.

Bhagwati bars are available in three different grades:

  • Grade Fe 500
  • Grade Fe 500D
  • Grade Fe 550D

For all the respective grades, our bars have shown superior performance and properties as against the BIS mandated standards.

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION

As per IS 1786: 2008. However we maintain Carbon equivalent value to maximum 0.45%.
Carbon equivalent is determined by the following formula : Cequiv = C + Mn/6 + (Cr + Mo + V)/ 5 + (Ni + Cu)! 15

WELDABILITY

Bhagwati bars are produced with C less than 0.25% and are suitable for all the main welding processes without any special precautions. No pre-heating or post-heating is necessary. No loss of strength at weld – joints.

STRAIN AGEING

Ageing resistant due to the manufacturing process and chemical composition.

FATIGUE

Approved internationally for dynamically
stressed structural sections.

PROPERTIES AT HIGH TEMPERATURES

Bhagwati bars, have a proven record resisting loss of strength or high temperatures as experienced during fires.

CORROSION RESISTANCE

More corrosion resistant than CTD bars. Cold working involved in CTD bars leads to surface stresses and consequent higher rate of corrosion – and, the protective scale layer falls off during twisting. The Tempcore and Thermex processes basically inhibits rate of scale formation and no cold working is involved.
